We will not use your personal information for purposes materially different from those listed here without first notifying you.
5. Location Information
Location supports freight matching and shipment tracking. We collect precise GPS location through your device’s location services after you grant permission.
Shipper App
- We collect foreground location while you are using the app, to help you set pickup and delivery points for a load and to follow a Carrier’s progress on an active shipment.
- We do not perform continuous background location tracking of Shippers. Limited background processing is used only to deliver shipment status updates and notifications.
- On iOS, the user-facing permission string is: “GORydz Freight needs location access to set pickup and delivery points and track your shipments.”
Carrier App
- While you have an active, booked shipment in progress, the Carrier app collects continuous high-precision location in the foreground and background (approximately every 5–10 seconds) so the app can provide navigation and share your live location and ETA with the Shipper whose freight you are hauling.
- Background location stops when the shipment is delivered or you go off duty. You can also disable it at any time through your device’s system settings, although doing so will prevent live shipment tracking.
- On iOS, the user-facing permission string is: “GORydz Freight Carrier needs location access to navigate to stops and share live tracking during an active shipment.”
- On Android, the app uses the
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION,ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION, andFOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATIONpermissions and runs a foreground service while a shipment is active.
Load route data (pickup, delivery, and intermediate stops) is retained as part of your shipment history.
6. Payments & Financial Data
GORydz only charges a membership or access fee for use of the Platform. GORydz does not process, hold, or collect payment for freight. Shippers and Carriers negotiate the rate and pay each other directly, off-platform, so we do not receive or store the financial details of those freight payments.
Our membership fees are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and CVCs are sent directly from your device to Stripe and are not stored on GORydz servers. We retain only a payment-method token, the brand and last four digits of your card, billing ZIP, and a transaction record for the membership charge. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported where available.
8. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The Services rely on the following third-party providers. Each handles personal data only for the purposes described below and is bound by their own privacy policy.
| Provider | Purpose | Data Accessed |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Membership and access-fee billing | Card details, billing name and ZIP (membership only; no freight payments) |
| Mapbox | Maps, geocoding, routing, navigation | Location, pickup/delivery addresses, route requests |
| Firebase (Google) | Push notifications and crash reporting | Device tokens, crash diagnostics, app event metadata |

| Apple / Google | App distribution, biometric auth, in-app billing | App-store identifiers and biometric verification result (no biometric template leaves the device) |
We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs, social-login providers, or cross-app tracking SDKs in either app.
9. Communications & Notifications
We send you operational messages (load and shipment status, booking confirmations, account and security notices) by push notification, in-app message, SMS, and email. These cannot be turned off while you have an active GORydz account because they are required to deliver the Services.
Marketing emails and promotional notifications are optional. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by adjusting notification preferences in the app.
